Arrested by Stealth

Mark 14:1 ESV

It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him.

Stealth comes from an Old English word related to steal. No thief steals openly.

When translated as a noun: stealth means cautious and surreptitious action or movement.

Synonyms:furtiveness, secretiveness, secrecy,surreptitiousness, sneakiness, slyness

Have you ever heard about the stealth bomber? This aircraft was designed in accordance with technology that makes detection by radar or sonar difficult.

The scripture calls Satan

The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy.  John 10:10

When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar (falsifier) and the father of lies.  John 8:44

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness (power of obscurity) transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.  Colossians 1:13
